Workers from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) barged into a showroom of clothing brand Zara at Palladium mall in Lower Parel on Tuesday for allegedly selling clothes made in Pakistan. According to a source, the workers led by Rita Gupta, said the showroom must close down the section. They said they were doing so as Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Indian Navy officer, had been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on the grounds of espionage.

“Here, Jadhav has been unjustly been prosecuted and we have shops dedicating sections to selling Pakistani clothes. This is simply not acceptable,” said Gupta. She warned that MNS will resort to its style (violent methods) if the clothes were not discarded.
The MNS in the past few days have been aggressive, putting up hoardings across the place, pleading for action against Pakistan on the Jadhav issue. Jadhav is a Maharashtrian and a resident of Mumbai. The management of the showroom had not commented on the incident at the time of going to press.
Following the Uri terror attacks in September 2016, of which 18 army jawans were killed in the ambush, the MNS issued an ultimatum of 48 hours to Pakistani artistes to leave India. After this, the MNS workers also launched an agitation outside film-maker Karan Johar’s Andheri office as he had defended his casting of Fawad Khan in his movie—Ae Dil Hain Mushkil.
