Pujari calls restaurant after his henchman slurs, fails to deliver

On Saturday, the hotel’s landline received a phone call that was attended by one of the staffers. It was Pujari who had made the call.

Fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari made another threat call, this time to the owner of Gajalee Hotel, a day after two of his men landed there and threatened a waiter asking him to give Pujari’s phone number to his boss.

The duo had apparently also fired a round from a dummy revolver on Friday night when they landed there, however, their threat was not clear as the person who entered the hotel slurred and couldn’t be understood.

“Not everything that the person said could be understood and his verbal delivery was comic. The sequence of events were fast and hence the firing also went unnoticed until a thing that resembled to the head of dummy bullet was found while sweeping the floor an hour later,” said a police officer.

The two unidentified men came on a bike, while one sat on it covering his face, the other came inside and issued threat.

“Their arrest will give us more clarity on what conspired. We have formed several teams and are trying to find them,” added the officer.

Gajalee owner Madhukar Shetty had not received any threats in the past nor was there demand for any protection money. A case was registered with the local police following the incident and it is also being investigated by Mumbai crime branch.
