A dissatisfied resident vent his anger at the bad state the main Virar-Nalasopata Link Road, by painting yellow question marks near the potholes. The painted signs are yet to be removed by the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC).
Motorists saw the painted marks at various places on the Link Road on Thursday. Even after the departure of monsoon, the VVMC is yet to mend the pothole ridden roads in Virar and Vasai.
Jeet Ingle, a social activist, said that despite several letters to the VVMC about the potholed roads, no action had been taken and the motorists were paying the price. “The area near St Peter School, Nalasopara, is bad and motorists avoid the stretch as it could lead to serious injury,” he added.
Earlier, there were protests wherein people would plant saplings in the potholes, but now someone has started a new method of protesting by putting question marks near the potholes,to highlight the bad state of roads.
