The state government on Friday appointed Shiv Sena’s Ratnagiri MLA Uday Samant as chairman of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) and BJP’s Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur as head of City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco).
Sena’s transport wing chief Haji Arfat Shaikh will head the State Minority Commission.
The state appointed Narendra Patil as chairman of Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation. Senior BJP leader Madhu Chavan will head the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board, which is Mhada’s Mumbai section, while Sena’s Vinod Ghosalkar and Vijay Nahata were appointed chairmen of Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board and Mumbai Slum Improvement Board respectively. Republican Party of India (A), the smaller ally in the Fadnavis government, has been given Mahatma Phule Backward Class Financial Development Corporation by appointing its leader Raja Sarwade as president.
