The lines from an old Bing Crosby song aptly describe an experience you could have on No TV Day. As part of the events on January 28, the Nehru Planetarium at Worli will screen a host of free shows for the public.

Starting at noon, the four shows, which run for forty minutes each, will be screened and open to all. Each show can accommodate 500 people, and the seats will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. This includes two screenings of Stars & Wonders of the Universe — one each in Hindi and Marathi, where the audience will journey through the life cycle of a star. The other show, screened in Hindi and English is called Awesome Universe, which describes various facets of the planets and solar systems.

“Our aim is to popularise science and astronomy. Opening up a free show for them on No TV Day will encourage them to come and see the planetarium,” said Arvind Paranjpye, the planetarium director.

“These shows are open to all, and we are particularly keen on getting in children from schools and colleges,” added Paranjpye.
