MH-CET digital answer sheet out, Mumbai student scores perfect 200

MH-CET scores will be considered at the time of allotment of 2,810 seats in government-run institutes

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) released on Tuesday the optical mark reader (OMR) sheets of 3.97 lakh candidates, who took the MH-CET on May 5. Based on the question paper and answer key of the test, students can know their final scores. “We released 9.5 lakh answer sheets online in the digital form for students to know their scores,” said Dr Pravin Shingare, director, DMER.

MH-CET scores will be considered at the time of allotment of 2,810 seats in government-run institutes. According to the ordinance cleared by the President on Tuesday, admissions to private and deemed institutes will be determined by NEET. While the final result of MH-CET 2016 is likely to be released on June 1, the OMR sheets give students a clear idea of how much they have scored. The rankings will also be available on that day.

Of the more than 2.8 lakh students vying for those seats, 17-year-old Rishab Rawat has emerged as the topper in the medical stream from Mumbai with a perfect score of 200, based on the answer sheet released on Tuesday. “Studying regularly and taking tests ensured I was well prepared for the MH-CET,” said Rishab adding that he hopes to bag a seat in a top medical institute in the city.

By Tuesday evening, most students were still collating their scores and coaching institutes too were busy putting scores together. However, many classes highlighted how they noticed a large number of students scoring more than 190 in the test this year.

“At least 10% of my class has scored above 190 this time, which is brilliant. We are all just hoping that the central government doesn’t change its mind about the validity of CET again. Students have worked really hard and hopefully, will get through the best government-run institutes,” said Avinash Mishra, director of Clear Concepts Pvt Limited, a Mumbai-based coaching institute.
