Report unruly flier behaviour, says regulator

The aviation regulator on Thursday asked airlines to report such incidents as soon as they happen. Circular directed airlines to report such incidents to the local DGCA air safety department because it poses a threat to flight safety.

The incident is to be immediately reported by the Chief of Flight Safety/Cabin Crew Nodal Officer (telephonically) and written information should be submitted within 12-hours of the landing of the aircraft as per the enclosed proforma, it said.

The regulator is working on a policy to curb the menace.

The legal department is looking at the final draft of the proposed policy. Offenders could face a one-year jail term and a penalty up to Rs 1 lakh.
