Singer Anmol Malik feels Indian audiences are finally mature and can listen to English songs produced by Indian musicians. Daughter of popular Bollywood music composer, Anu Malik, Anmol, recently released her second single, Let Me Come Home. She feels technology has made the Indian masses more aware about global music.
“It’s not as if earlier people never heard English music. Beatles and Michael Jackson have had a massive fan following in India. But thanks to internet, everyone is now exposed to so much more international music,” she says.
The 22-year-old singer is more comfortable penning English songs. “I feel, I’m more expressive, when I write in English. It’s not that I don’t write well in Hindi. But I’m in my comfort zone when I write in English,” she adds.
Anmol feels Indian musicians have everything to compete at the global level. “ India has a lot of talent, and I am not making this up when I say this. I was told by friends in the West that they couldn’t believe that I had done the song. They thought it was done by some international artist. That’s what I mean, when I say that Indians have a big global appeal when it comes to producing music. I truly we believe our musicians and producers can compete at a global level and its about time that it starts happening. Right from composing mixing to mixing it, mastering it and producing it as a single- Indians have got it all,” she says.
