Grammys 2017: It’s sixth time unlucky for Anoushka Shankar, loses to Yo-Yo Ma

Indian sitarist Anoushka Shankar failed to convert her World Music category nomination into a win for the sixth time at the Grammy 2017 when she lost the top honour to cellis Yo-Yo Ma. Anoushka was nominated for her album Land of Gold.

Yo-Yo Ma collected a crossover award in the best world music album category, for Sing Me Home. The classical virtuoso has received 19 Grammys to date.
