I’ll be stupid not to play Uptown Funk in India: Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson talks about his upcoming gig in India and wonder if people know that Uptown Funk was written by a half-Indian.

When you get all ready to ask questions to British music producer Mark Ronson, he surprises you with a question from his side, “Do people over there in India know that Uptown Funk was co-written by half Indian — Jeff Bhasker?”

All geared up for his performance in India, Ronson was happy that not only do Indians know that, but the song has also become a party anthem here. “I didn’t know that. Now, I’ll be stupid to not play Uptown Funk in India,” he says. The hitmaker admits he doesn’t have “much idea” about Indian audiences but is excited to play in India. “In Europe or America you have a fair idea about how the crowds are. But I’ve no idea about how the crowd will react in India. I’ve heard that they are very energetic. So it will be pretty exciting to play there,” says Ronson.
