My wife introduced me to world music: Kailash Kher

Singer Kailash Kher says his wife introduced him to world music and he now wants to collaborate with Melody Gardot.

Kailash Kher has become synonymous with soulful music. However, he lets a little secret out when he spoke to us recently. He told us that besides his gurus and parents, he is thankful to one more person for his music exposure – his wife.

Singer Kailash Kher would love to collaborate with Melody Gardot.

“I am lucky to have Sheetal in my life. She is a passionate advocate of human rights, writes beautifully and is very cosmo in her approach. Although we both come from very different backgrounds, we share love for music. In fact, she exposed me to a lot of international music. She introduced me to Adele, Coldplay and Melody Gardot,” says the 42-year-old singer, who now harbours a dream to collaborate with the Grammy Award nominated singer, Gardot.

“I would love to collaborate with Melody Gardot. Even if it is just a jamming session, I’d love to have one with her. And I know that there is nothing unachievable, as dreams do come true. I have lived my dream and am living to share the tale. For instance, there was a time when Amitji (actor Amitabh Bachchan) was such a big star that we would think that even to see him in real life would be a dream. But then there came a time when Amitji and I sang together! I know for a fact that there is nothing unattainable if you set out to attain. Work hard, work passionately and be honest in your efforts,” he adds.
