The hate for Madonna seems to keep piling up. Now the world’s most celebrated female singer is under fire for delivering a weak tribute to Prince at 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Wearing a shimmering lilac-coloured suit, the 57-year-old singer took to the stage at the end of the evening and sang ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ followed by Purple Rain as she held the hand of surprise guest Stevie Wonder, reports the Express Tribune.
According to the critics, the ‘Vogue’ singer’s interpretation was full of languor and devoid of any solo guitar, which has been a key element to the late Grammy-winning singer’s collection.

The haters even added that the performance was nowhere near to typical ‘Prince performance,’ rather it was “unique brand of danceable funk.”
British singer Dave Stewart of Eurythmics took to Twitter to initiate the criticism and wrote, “Please don’t have Madonna attempt a Prince song.”
