What’s moreMalik is the lead guitarist with Cyanide, a Delhi based alternative rock band. His tryst with guitar started after watching his seniors play in the school assembly. After months of non-stop practice, he decided to form a band Blank Noize with his school friends. With little knowledge of recording and mixing, Malik recorded Blank Noize’s debut album in 2008, which turned out to be the highest selling album of the year by an independent band. Meanwhile, they played at various college festivals and recorded the second album for Blank Noize that helped them make it through to Channel V’s Launchpad — a national rock band competition. The band stood fifth in the competition. In 2009, he joined Cyanide, and has performed regularly at various Indian cities. Malik is also working on a project called Mulakaat, which is an Indo-Pak theatre/film/dance festival.
