Remixes of old songs are sometimes business calls, says Meet Brothers’ Manmeet

While recreating old classics is mostly a call taken by the producers,who follow the trend, singers Manmeet and Harmeet believe that it’s the audience who dictate what they want.

Musicians Manmeet and Harmeet aka Meet Bros have churned out a lot of Bollywood numbers but they accept that the current trend of remixing old tracks is a business call.

Musicians Manmeet and Harmeet believe that their music reflects their personality.

“It’s never our first call to recreate a song. We are original music makers. But sometimes the producers and music companies realise that it’s a trend. These are all business related calls which companies and producers take,” says Manmeet.

A lot of tracks, such as Laila Main Laila, Humma Humma, reintroduced in recent releases, have received mixed reviews from music critics. Talking about the negative feedback, Harmeet says, “Honestly, for us, there is only one critic and that’s our listeners. It’s the audience who dictate what they want. Music is not something you can sit and pass your judgment on. If it’s a Humma Humma, which is creating a storm, it means that people like that old vibe which is coming back again.”
