Pakistani singer Qurat-ul-ain Balouch, aka QB, made a strong connect with the Indian audiences for the title track of popular Pakistani soap, Humsafar, which has made her a household name in India.
"I am known as the Humsafar girl! And I remember I was quite intimidated about singing the song, but the entire team encouraged me and told me, 'You will rock it'," she says, further adding that she had no idea that the song will become successful. "Honestly, I had no idea that it will be picked up so well. A lot of people tell me that the drama would not have been that big a hit, if the song wasn't there." In fact, the song's success was why Balouch decided to become a full time singer.
"The song will stick with me for a long time. Right after Humsafar's song and the success that followed, I decided that I am going to stick around," she says. Now, the Pakistani singer is ready to charm once again with her latest single, Bewafiyaan, which the singer says is based on her own experiences, and that it also has a special message for men around the globe. "The song is about the emotions of the female entity. When I first heard the melody, I wanted to complete its lyrics by bringing in my own experience about relationships and how men, in general, aren't really that loyal," she says, further explaining, "We women are very sensitive. We take emotions far too seriously. There have been so many people around me who feel the same way. There is an entire argument about expecting loyalty from your partner. No offence, but then, somewhere in the nature of men, they don't really go deep down as far as emotions are concerned. They don't really declare their emotions aggressively. This is what my agenda is all about in this song," she says.
