NEW DELHI: Admiral Sunil Lanba on Tuesday took over as the new Chief of Naval Staff and vowed to ensure that the maritime domain of the country is safe and secure. Fifty-right-year-old Lanba, a specialist in navigation and direction, will have the full three-year tenure as Navy chief. He succeeded Admiral RK Dhowan who retired. An alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Lanba is the 21st Indian to be the Navy chief. The first two were British.
