14-year-old abducted, gangraped at Loni, one arrested

The family of a 14-year-old girl from Loni has alleged that the girl was abducted by three men who gangraped her on August 7 and dumped her at Khadkhadi railway station the next morning.

According to the complaint, the girl had gone to dump waste at a vacant plot near her house on August 7 when she was picked up by two men.

Following the complaint lodged by the girl’s family on August 10, the police lodged an FIR under IPC’s sections for abduction, criminal intimidation and gangrape at Tronica City police station. They also levied provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

“We have arrested prime suspect Dillu alias Dilshad, 26, and police teams have been roped in to nab other accused persons. Dilshad supplies packaged water at the girl’s locality and is the father of three children. The girl was sent for medical examination and a report is awaited. The accused will also be sent for medical examination. We are conducting further investigation,” said Ummed Singh, station house officer, Tronica City.

According to the complaint, the girl had gone to dump waste at a vacant plot near her house on August 7 when she was picked up by two men. After a search, the family came to know about Dilshad’s involvement behind the incident. The FIR alleges that the men raped the girl through the night of August 7 and left her at Khadkhadi railway station 6am at the next day.

The family also alleged that when they come to know about Dilshad’s involvement, his brother and one other person came to their house and threatened them of dire consequences if they pursued the matter.
