To highlight the daily traffic issues and crumbling infrastructure of Hinjewadi, conveners of the Free-Up Hinjewadi Movement approached the chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday.
A group of 50 volunteers, including techies, residents and businessmen, have taken the initiative and formed an online petition called ‘Free-Up Hinjewadi’ to highlight traffic woes in Hinjewadi and requested people to sign it.
A four-member delegation led by Sudhir Deshmukh met Fadnavis at Mantralaya in Mumbai. Deshmukh briefed the CM about the issues faced by the IT employees and other residents. On behalf of the Free-Up Hinjewadi Movement, Deshmukh also submitted a hard copy of the petition to the CM, which was signed online by 19,000 people as of date.
The delegation was accompanied by Ravindra Sinha, Arun Patole and Arun Deshmukh.
Deshmukh said, “The chief minister was kind enough to give us time. He heard our problems and looked at the long and short term solutions we put forward. He assured us that he would immediately look into the matter and see that the issues are resolved.”
The delegation took this meeting as a positive development for their concerns, suggestions and solutions addressed in the Change.org *Free-Up Hinjewadi petition* ( https://goo.gl/WwXGTp ).

On Wednesday, Nilesh Modhave, executive engineer of MIDC, with his junior officers and ACP Shridhar Jadhav and PI Shivaji Gaware visited Hinjewadi with members the of 'Free-Up Hinjewadi Movement'. Officers heard all the problems faced by IT employees and assured to solve them in near future.
