A local court on Friday sent Surjeet Singh, an aide of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) militant Arvinder Singh ‘Mitha’, to judicial custody.

Surjeet was produced in court amid tight security. SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr) deputy superintendent of police Mukhtiar Rai and Rahon station house officer Gurdial Singh were leading the police team.
Although SBS Nagar senior superintendent of police (SSP) Snehdeep Sharma has remained tight-lipped on revelations made by Surjeet after his arrest on May 30, sources said the accused’s link to Haryana and names of two other accomplices have come up during the interrogation. Raids are being conducted to arrest the two persons, said sources, adding that another police team is trying to trace members of the outfit on Facebook.
