Joint municipal commissioner Rajiv Gupta said a four-member team of the ministry will be visiting the city to conduct the survey between January 5 and January 10. The survey parameters, aligned with the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission, will focus on garbage collection, solid waste management and the condition of public toilets. The results are expected to be uploaded on mygov.in on January 25.

On the basis of the survey conducted by the team, the Centre will be releasing a ranking all the 75 cities.

The results of the survey will be largely based on the feedback of the residents. The residents will get a call from the survey agencies and will have to fill in a questionnaire on how clean is their area, can residents easily find a dustbin and how far is the public toilet.

Six other cities are participating in the survey from the region: Amritsar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ludhiana, Shimla and Srinagar.
