After putting head constable Subhash and Home Guards volunteer Jagseer under suspension and sending them to the traffic police lines in Sector 29, the department has also initiated a departmental inquiry.

Mohali-based Rajesh along with his wife and son had come to the apni mandi. While the couple left to buy vegetables, they left the child sleeping in the car. As the car was parked on the road, traffic police towed it away without noticing that the boy was sleeping in it.

“We have initiated departmental inquiry against the two employees, who have been negligent,” said deputy superintendent of police (DSP, traffic, south) Rajiv Kumar Ambasta.
