Victim Ramdhari alleged that he and his daughter were thrashed black and blue by the accused, before being forced to consume cow-dung. Ramdhari’s family members took him and his daughter to Hisar’s civil hospital for treatment.

Ramdhari alleged that the accused, namely Manoj Kumar, Krishna Devi and Pappu of the same village, asked him to take away cow-dung cakes kept by his family at a place for drying up.

His son Ashok Kumar said, “My father and sister were milking cow when the three accused asked him to take the cow-dung cakes away. My father only demanded some more time to do so, but they started thrashing my father and sister badly. They even forced my sister and father to consume cow dung and fled from the spot.”

He added, “Police are investigating into both the complaints and will arrest the accused soon.”

Meanwhile, Dalit activist and senior advocate Rajat Kalsan and other Dalit leaders visited the civil hospital to meet Ramdhari and his family members.

Talking to HT, Kalsan said, “We have demanded strict action against the guilty and requested the police to arrest the accused at the earliest.”
