The Darshan Didar Yatra (DDY) being carried out by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the state government left the city on Saturday for Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib located near the city. On Friday night, the special bus carrying the relics of Sikh gurus halted at Gurdwara Singh Sabha located in Model Town.

Like Friday, devotees in large numbers paid obeisance as the procession made its way out of the city. However, the traffic remained choked as it was on Friday. There were no special arrangements to get the traffic cleared.

Several residents criticised the district administration over the traffic chaos. They said the officials should have learnt a lesson from Friday when the procession had entered the city from Ladowal toll plaza. Hundreds of cars, buses and many other vehicles were stuck for hours right on the GT Road which is one of the most busiest roads, they lamented.

A group of college students, while talking to HT, said, “Traffic police and district administration officials seem to have learnt no lesson from their past experiences. What if ambulances on way to hospitals get stuck in the traffic jam?”

The design of the bus has also been hugely appreciated which has also turned very popular on various social networking platforms.
