Ever since the establishment of the LPG bottling plant in 2000 on the border of the town, the demand for a fire brigade had remained high here.

A fire broke out in the Government Ripudaman College about ten years ago, after which the people raised the demand for a fire brigade with the then MLA Randeep Singh with great intensity. The MLA had put forward the demand in the Vidhan Sabha, which was promised by chief minister Prakash Singh Badal in the previous term.

Finally, the fire brigade has been arranged from the MPLAD funds, which is to be run by the municipalities of Nabha and Bhadson, contributing in the 70:30 ratio in the operational cost. However, the recruitment of the staff and the construction of a building of the fire station are still pending. Meanwhile, the fire brigade will be stationed at the municipality office complex.

“I pray that there is no mishappening requiring the fire brigade. Yet, the service towards fulfilment of the demand of Nabha brings pleasure to me,” said Dr Gandhi.
