Health dept collects four samples of Maggi

Following the news of excessive lead and other health harming ingredients in instant noodle product Maggi, district health department conducted a raid at a godown of Maggi in Model Town on Wednesday.

Following the news of excessive lead and other health harming ingredients in instant noodle product Maggi, district health department conducted a raid at a godown of Maggi in Model Town on Wednesday.

District health officer (DHO) Abnash Kumar and district food safety officer (DFSO) Manoj Khosla conducted the raid at Alpha Overseas, who is dealer of Nestle products.

Kumar informed that four samples of Maggi were collected from the godown and instructions were given not to sell its products till the lab test report comes.

The department took samples of Maggi Oats, Maggi Aatta Noodles, Maggi Mega Masala as well as Maggi instant food and samples were sent to a lab in Chandigarh.
