Preneet got the notice for the distribution of Congress booklets (election material) without permission, while Dhillon has got it for unauthorised use of Facebook for electioneering.

Apart from the sitting MP, district Congress Committee (urban) president Prem Krishan Puri and a printer have got the notices.

Preneet got the notice as the Congress is distributing an eight-page booklet highlighting her achievements as a member of Parliament. Puri had published the booklet, which is being distributed in various parts of the constituency. The SAD candidate had lodged a complaint in this regard.

Meanwhile, Dhillon's Facebook page has his quote, "It's time for change. And it's time for development. Vote for SAD for development." Nearly 6,600 persons have liked or commented on his post.

"Notices has been served on violators of both parties and they have been asked to submit a reply within 24 hours, failing which a case of violation of the model code of conduct would be lodged against them," said GK Singh, deputy commissioner-cum-district electoral officer.
