Dr Inderjit Kaur, president of the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, and Jarnail Singh Bhullar, superintendent of the department of posts (DOP), Amritsar division, on Wednesday jointly inaugurated an e-payment facility for the donors interested in making donations to the Pingalwara Charitable Society.
The DOP will be accepting the amount of donation for the society at their counters and will be issuing the e-payment receipt on the spot to the donor. The donation will be transferred by the DOP to the e-payment account of the society through Internet, while the donors will have to pay a nominal fee for getting their donations remitted to the society.
“The facility will be beneficial to the donors as up to Rs 1,000, the donor will have to pay Rs 5 only and up to Rs 2,500, Rs 10. This fee is nominal as compared to the commission for money orders and bank draft, while the remittance of donations is quite speedy,” said Colonel Darshan Singh Bawa (retd), Pingalwara administrator.
Bawa added, “The facility will make things easy for us too, as it is a project to keep records and send receipts to the donors to their respective addresses (in case of online transfers). But after we have joined hands with the DOP, donors can visit a post office near them and get the receipt.”
