The event was flagged off by MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and was led by Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, his son and general secretary of PPCC (Punjab Padres Congress Committee).

MC councillors, villagers and Congress supporters from the constituency participated in the rally.

While addressing the gathering, Vikramjit said that the objective of the yatra is to apprise people about the pro-poor, pro-farmer, pro-Dalit and good work carried out by the Congress-led UPA government.

“The SAD-BJP alliance has made every possible attempt to malign the outlook of the masses by claiming the credit for these noble endeavours of the Congress, claiming them to be their brain child by false propaganda through their personal media channels and fixing their photos on every project which are now banned,” said Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary.
