Randeep Hooda excited to play lead in Sarabjeet’s biopic

Both your upcoming films Main aur Charles or Sarabjeet revolve around the lives of prisoners. Was it a conscious choice to do these films?
It’s just a coincidence. ‘Main aur Charles’ revolves around an incident in the life of French serial killer Charles Sobhraj. ‘Sarabjeet’, on the other hand, is a story also of a prisoner but the narrative includes the journey right from his childhood to the time he passed away. So, while ‘Sarabjeet’ can be referred to as a biopic, ‘Main aur Charles’ is not a biopic.

Does playing the lead role in a National-Award winning director’s project come with an added responsibility?
Indeed, it does. But I have never thought about it like that because if I start getting bogged down by the pressure I won’t be able to perform. But I am most excited that I will be working with Omung Kumar. He has been wanting to make this film for quite some time now. I’m excited as well as nervous to do the film. We will start shooting in December.
