Rt Rev PK Samantaroy installed 13th Moderator of CNI

PK Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India (CNI), has been installed as the 13th moderator, CNI, following his election to the post during the 15th ordinary meeting of the Synod of the CNI held recently at Sherwood College, Nainital.

PP Marandih, the outgoing moderator, announced that PK Samantaroy had been installed as the 13th moderator of CNI. Prior to his election as the moderator, Pradeep Kumar Samantaroy had served the CNI as the Deputy Moderator.

After his installation as the moderator of CNI, Samantaroy was welcomed by people at Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport and was brought to the St. Paul's Church, Court Road, in a grand procession. The event witnessed the participation of representatives of churches, and heads of institutions situated in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing media persons, the Most Rev Samantaroy said that during the next three years of his service he would work towards spreading the Word and Love of Jesus Christ through Unity, Witness and Service. "Providing hostels and technical education to the youth and also upholding the Rights of Women, Children, dalits and tribals would be my top priority," he said.
