“Till date no candidate’s name has been announced by the party in the state,”he said while talking to mediapersons.Reacting to the query on increased instances of crime in the state, especially the increased instances of desecration of holy books, Badal said that some elements want to disrupt peace in Punjab and with elections nearing, certain political parties are deriving mileage out of these events.

“It is saddening that just to increase the vote count, you befriend those who are against peace,”he added.

He termed the safeguarding of hard earned peace, communal harmony and national integration as main agenda of the state government.Badal said nature has gifted natural resources to Punjab in the form of water and fertile land, but both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are constantly trying hard to rob the state of its water. He said that if both the parties succeeded, then it would hit the state’s economy hard. The CM said that not only the farmers, but also traders, labourers and all people would be affected as the state’s economy is based on agriculture.
