Sangrur gets NRI police station

To ensure speedy hassle-free redressal of complaints filed by the non-resident Indians of the Sangrur and Barnala districts, the Punjab government has set up an NRI police station at the Police Lines in Sangrur.

To ensure speedy hassle-free redressal of complaints filed by the non-resident Indians of the Sangrur and Barnala districts, the Punjab government has set up an NRI police station at the Police Lines in Sangrur.

Giving this information here on Monday, SSP Sangrur Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that the police station would directly function under the IGP of the NRI police wing Gurpreet Kaur Deo and AIG Bhupinder Singh Sidhu.

Inspector Sanjiv Kumar has been appointed as station head officer of the new NRI police station,Sangrur and he has joined his duty with immediate effect. He said any NRI Punjabi of Sangrur and Barnala districts can contact him on his mobile 9878421444 and his munshi on mobile 8054601375, in case of any problems.

The SSP said that now the government had also set up an independent NRI police wing, which will give help to solve cases of NRIs. He assured that justice would be provided to the each complainant in a time-bound manner.
