'Spy' pigeon gets company of male partner

The pigeon with a Pakistani address and numbers embossed on its wings had landed at Manwal village near the border on May 27 that had alerted the security agencies.

The pigeon was thoroughly examined as the security agencies suspected it to be a mischief of the neighbouring country.

Confirming the move, DSP rural Parbhjot Singh Virk claimed that vets feared that the bird might die of loneliness and advised them to keep it with other birds.

"We have given the bird to local Ramanjit Singh who nurtures birds. The bird is in good health and we are keeping a watch on it," he said.
