About the latest trends of singers turning actors in Punjabi movies, he said, "Most of the films being released these days have singers-turned-actors as stars. My film will give the audience an option. It is up to them to take it or turn it down."

Talking about producer's investment choice, Kartar said, "Producers invest only in those films, which have singers as actors thinking that singer's fan base will work in favour of the film. Producers even think that if nothing else works, at least the music rights will generate revenue and that is why the films with popular singers as actors do well on the box office."

'Sikander' is the first movie in which Kartar has been cast in a positive role. Speaking about his personal choice, he said, "I don't mind doing a negative role if they give me a chance to show my potential."

Sharing his experience of working with Gul Panag, he said, "She has an experience of more than 10 years in the film industry and working with her was a learning experience."
