Two held for illegal sand mining, loaded tractor-trolleys impounded

The Shahkot police have arrested two persons for illegal sand mining. Block mining officer Pawan Kumar lodged a complaint with the police that accused Jagdish Singh Jagga of Pakhowal village in Kapurthala and Ravipal Ravi of Mohalla Mehtab Garh, Kapurthala, violated the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court by indulging in the illegal mining of sand in the area. Cases under sections 21 of the Mining Act and 379 (theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.

Their two tractor-trolleys loaded with illegal sand have been also impounded.
