A girl student of Karim City College jumped off the building after she was allegedly caught cheating during an examination at Jamshedpur Cooperative College on Thursday.
A team of flying squad caught the girl cheating and handed her over to the college examination department along with chit and admit card.
According to university norms, a student is expelled from the college for one year once caught while cheating during examination.
The girl started crying and allegedly threatened the squad members and college staff that she would commit suicide if she didn’t get her admit card back.
The college staff advised the girl to take the examination next year with full preparation but she remained firm on her decision and jumped of the building.
The injured girl was rushed to Tata Main Hospital with the help of local police and other staff where doctors declared her as out of danger.
Her family members have been informed about the incident.
Kolhan University examination controller Ganga Prasad Singh said the girl’s act was a kind of blackmailing.
“Action will be taken against the girl as she has violated the examination rules. Students should be alert that they will not be exempted from action if caught practising cheating in examination hall,” Singh said.

{{/usCountry}}The examination department on Thursday expelled 33 students of post-graduation second-year and B Tech students who were caught cheating in recent examinations.
Students’ wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad’s Kolhan University in-charge Sonu Thakur condemned the girl’s move but said they would appeal to the college administration to counsel her.
