Suriya fans couldn’t have asked for more: Looks like the superstar’s upcoming Tamil/Telugu sci-fi film, 24, will have him in three different avatars. At least, that is what his fans are hoping for after watching the film’s trailer, released on Tuesday.
The 2:10-minute-long trailer is about Suriya in almost every frame: We have him as an evil bed-bound ageing villain fighting to win all that he’s lost, as a simpleton (this time, he’s a scientist) whose blissful life with wife (Nithya) and an infant baby is shattered, and finally, as a typical Indian film hero who does everything his fans love him for.

In between all of this, we are also introduced to what everybody is fighting each other for: A strange concoction of complex chemical formulae, a secret ‘weapon’ that promises world domination. Yes, to do justice to the film’s sci-fi tag, we also have the concept of time travel thrown in.

The film stars Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Girish Karnad. It has been written and directed by Vikram K Kumar and has music by AR Rahman. The Tamil and Telugu trailers were released simultaneously.
