A dose of Bengali cinema for Delhi

Bengal Association of New Delhi is all set to organise Padma Jamuna Bengali CineUtsav 2016 to celebrate Bengali cinema in the Capital.

For many Bengalis, Delhi is a home away from home. To regale them, Bengal Association of New Delhi has been organising screenings of Bengali films for almost six decades. For the first time now, it will be organising Padma Jamuna Bengali CineUtsav 2016 to celebrate Bengali cinema.

“We wanted to give an opportunity to the audiences to discuss films with eminent directors like Goutam Ghosh, Kaushik Ganguly, Debesh Chatterjee and others. Prasenjit Chatterjee will also be available for discussion on September 2, after screening of his film Shankhachil,” says Sauranshu Sinha, joint secretary, Bengal Association of New Delhi.

The festival will culminate with Ghosh’s Monwer Manush, which won the National Award for promoting communal harmony.
