If you thought Telugu blockbuster Baahubali was the last word in grandeur, you’ve got to see this off screen masterpiece. After creating magic with the sets of India’s costliest film, Baahubali’s art director Sabu Cyril unveiled yet another magnum opus on November 26: A Rs 55 crore wedding pandal in Kerala’s Kollam city for NRI tycoon Ravi Pillai’s daughter Arathi.
According to reports, Sabu’s brief was to recreate Rajasthan palaces spread over across the 8-acre ground. Earlier, speaking to Times of India, the art director said the pandal complex was bigger than the set he created for Baahubali. “The palace in the film was set up on five acres, but this set will cover 40,000 sq ft spread over eight acres,” he said. Cyril also revealed that it will take his 200-member strong team a fortnight just to dismantle the set and clear the ground.

Just to give a comparison though, while it took Sabu two years to put together the Baahubali palace complex, he and his team created the wedding pandal in 75 days. The wedding celebrations will continue for a week.
