Gautham Menon’s highly anticipated Dhruva Natchathiram, which was originally planned with Suriya and later with Jayam Ravi, was eventually bagged by Vikram and the project went on the floors earlier this year. The film has once again undergone a major shuffle.
After its lead heroine Anu Emmanuel and cinematographer Jomon T John walked out of the project citing dates issues, filmmakers Gautham Vasudev Menon replaced them with Ritu Varma and Santhana Krishnan, son of legendary cinematographer Ravi K Chandran respectively.
The latest update is that Santhana Krishnan has been replaced by Manoj Paramahamsa, who had previously worked with Gautham in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. The makers are currently filming in Europe where they are shooting crucial action sequences, according to a reliable source.
Manoj has joined the team for the European scheduled and will stick around to finish the project. The film stars Vikram in the role of a spy and it has already shot predominant portion of the film in the US, apart from Coonor in Tamil Nadu. Tipped made on the lines of The Bourne series, the film is being made on a lavish budget. The film marks the first-time collaboration of Vikram and Gautham Menon and the project is gearing up for year-end release.

The makers have kept the identity of the film’s antagonist a secret as they have roped in someone very unusual for the role. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was tipped to play a cameo, but it looks like the makers have dropped the idea.
