I love Mohan Kaka’s ease and eagerness: Subodh Bhave

Actor Subodh Bhave talks about working with veteran Mohan Joshi and seeing his idea being made into a film

Subodh Bhave shared a very special relationship with his grandfather, Chakranarayan Raghunath Bhave. This bond got him to ideate his first story that is now a film. Pushpak Viman, directed and written by Vaibhav Chinchalkar, is based on Subodh’s idea and the actor is excited about bringing it forth to the audience.

The actor lost his grandfather three years ago, just two days before the release of his film, Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush (2015). He says, “I always wanted to take him for a vacation on a plane. However, I did not have money when he was fit. And, when I started earning he was not in his best of health to travel. So, somewhere deep down I regret not having given him that pleasure.”

This incident got Subodh to come up with the storyline of Pushpak Viman and Vaibhav helped him shape it further. “The film represents and celebrates the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren. The story is based in Jalgaon and Mumbai,” says Subodh, who will be seen with Mohan Joshi in the film.

Subodh recently turned producer and admits that it is not an easy job. “When you are donning three hats for one project (writer, producer and actor), you realise what a gamble it is. Now I know exactly what each of my producers went through when they were making films. It is a responsibility which stays with you even after the film releases,” he adds.
