Keerthy Suresh’s Mahanati is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Telugu films in recent times. A biopic on legendary southern actor Savitri, the film will give audiences a tour into the golden era of Telugu filmdom. The makers of the film pulled off a casting coup when they roped in popular stars for crucial roles in the film.

Apart from Keerthy Suresh, Samantha Akkineni, Dulquer Salman and Vijay Deverakonda, the film also stars senior Telugu star Mohan Babu as veteran actor SV Ranga Rao, who played a pivotal role in Savitri’s life. Rao and Savitri worked together in several memorable films.

On Sunday, the makers revealed Mohan Babu’s look as Ranga Rao from the film and the former looked unbelievably real as the yesteryear star. Donning Ranga Rao’s Ghatokacha get up from 1957 Telugu classic Mayabazar, Babu looked majestic and pitch-perfect.
Slated to release worldwide on May 9, Mahanati features Keerthy as Savitri and Dulquer as Gemini Ganesan. The story of Savitri is narrated through the eyes of Samantha, who plays a journalist and is paired with Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Deverakonda.
