Subodh thanks Pune for its dedication

Subodh Bhave is thankful to the city for helping him remain focused and achieve his dream

Subodh Bhave, one of the most prolific actors in the Marathi film industry, has received widespread praise for his versatility, his ability to portray convincing varied characters, and direction sensibilities over the years. Now, the actor is preparing for the release of his next project, Pushpak Viman.

The film is scheduled to release in July 2018, and will be directed by Vaibhav Chinchalkar. “I came across this warm, sweet, emotional and interesting story in April this year. It was an observation I made at my home, and it is a light-hearted, simple tale. The interesting part is, it is always difficult to tell simple stories, and we have tried to put out our best effort,” says Subodh.

The actor is also working on N Relekar’s play, Chhand Priticha, in which he acts as a visually-impaired dholaki player. Subodh says he enjoys portraying varied characters and is constantly on the lookout for new roles. “I have never played a visually-impaired person or a dholaki player, so it was like fulfilling two roles in one film. Playing a visually-impaired person was tough, as you have to forget that you can see. It was challenging, but it is a psychological play and you have to believe that you can’t see to make the character feel realistic.”

Talking about his love for Pune, Subodh says, “In any profession, your focus has to be clear and on point. Pune taught me to focus and maintain the sanctity of my profession. The general vibe here is pure and pushes you to be dedicated. “
