Actor Suvrat Joshi entered the Marathi film industry with a rather unconventional role in Viju Mane’s Shikari, but his work was appreciated and accepted by fans despite its offbeat content. Now, the actor is excited about his next, Party, directed by Sachin Darekar.

Speaking about the film, Suvrat says it is about friendships and college days of the ’90s. “I spent my school years in the ’90s. It was a completely different world back then. Our hairstyles, clothing and even behaviour were different. For example, we were never allowed to chew gum in school. So, college was like our space to break taboos. I tried to incorporate this craziness in my character,” says Suvrat.

The film will see Suvrat chewing gum and flaunting his Walkman, and he will also sport two different looks. Apparently, the actor had to undergo a physical transformation for the role as well. “I had to lose weight and look like a college kid for the character. Also, there is a defining twist to the character, and I had to look physically weak. It has been an interesting journey.”
