British relationship blogger Dami Olonisakin urged her female followers on Twitter to make the first move and ask their crushes out on a date.
“Ladies ask that guy you fancy out on a date and tweet me a screen shot of his response,” she posted on her Twitter handle @Oloni last Thursday.
She has since deleted the tweet but numerous women participated in the ‘Date Challenge’ and some scored dates, others were left humiliated. There were some cruel rejections and some had the nerve to ask who was texting them.
To a woman’s “Wanna go on a date with me?”, she received the message: “You can no longer send Direct Messages to this person.”
One man pretended as though the woman’s text messages weren’t going through even though he had clearly read them. Another assumed his female acquaintance was trying to set him up with a friend.

But not all responses were heart-breaking. Some women were pleasantly surprised by the men’s response to their text messages.
