However, Atlanta will be without one of its reliable bench contributors for the contest, as forward Brionna Jones has once again been ruled out.

Why isn’t Brionna Jones playing tonight?

Jones is the only Dream player listed as unavailable on the team’s injury report. Atlanta has sidelined the veteran forward because of a left leg injury, marking the fifth straight game she will miss.

The 30-year-old has appeared in nine games this season, coming off the bench in each of those appearances rather than starting. Her most recent outing came on Thursday, Aug. 13, against the Connecticut Sun.

During her limited action this season, Jones has averaged more than 16 minutes per game while contributing 8.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

She has shot 51.9% from the field, although her three-point shooting has been less consistent at 16.75%.

Jones contributes strongly on glass

Jones has also provided a significant presence on the boards whenever she has been available. Her 5.6 rebounds per game rank second on Atlanta’s roster this season behind Angel Reese, who is averaging 12 rebounds per contest.

While Jones has been limited to nine appearances this season, she played a much larger role last year. She appeared in 44 games during the previous campaign and averaged 12.8 points per game.

Atlanta enters matchup in strong form

Atlanta enters Monday’s game with its remaining roster available for selection. The Dream are 24-13 heading into the matchup after securing an impressive road victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night.

Angel Reese was the standout performer in that win, finishing with 31 points, 14 rebounds and four steals. Rhyne Howard also delivered a strong performance, adding 20 points, three rebounds and five assists.
