Bigg Boss 9: Court to hear case against SRK, Salman

The complaint maintains that the incident seemed to be a “well-planned malicious act to outrage Hindu feelings,” however adds that any kind of misdeed committed by them affected the masses.

A Delhi court will on Friday hear a criminal complaint against Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan for hurting religious sentiments by entering a temple wearing their shoes during a shoot for the TV show Big Boss 9.

Filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan VK Gautam by advocate Gaurav Gulati, the complaint asks the court to direct city police to file an FIR against the two actors, the show’s producer, and a television channel that aired it. Gultati’s complaint says the accused are guilty of deliberately acting in a way that would outrage religious sentiments, uttering words that would hurt religious feelings and common intent.

The complaint maintains that the incident seemed to be a “well-planned malicious act to outrage Hindu feelings,” however adds that any kind of misdeed committed by them affected the masses. The case is fixed for hearing on January 22.

The complaint filed by advocate Gaurav Gulati alleged that in a video being circulated, Shahrukh and Salman were seen wearing shoes on the sets of temple of goddess ‘Kali’ while shooting for an episode of Bigg Boss where the idol can be seen in the background.

“It has been seen by the complainant on YouTube on December 15, 2015 that both the actors were standing and moving on the sets of ‘Kali Mata’ temple wearing their shoes. It is a disrespect to the Hindu religion and its belief as it is strictly prohibited to come in the temple with shoes and also they were showing their back to the idol which is also deemed to be an insult to the Hindu goddess... (sic),” Gulati’s complaint alleged.

Seeking prosecution of the two actors, channel and the show’s director and producer, the complainant claimed he felt insulted about his religious belief.

He said he had approached Roop Nagar Police Station with his complaint but no action was taken by the police and so he moved the court.
