The show will take a five-year leap.

However, the channel insists that it hasn’t finalised Gor’s replacement yet. The child bride is currently completing her final episodes on the show. Two newcomers, besides Bannerjee, have been shortlisted following countrywide auditions. They are Nivedita Tiwari from Lucknow and Ketaki Chitale from Mumbai.

The channel spokesperson confirms this and says, “The reason we have chosen three girls instead of one is that we want the audience to choose their Anandi through SMS voting that starts next week. The girl who gets maximum votes will be cast as the new Anandi.”
