Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin actor Karan Oberoi: I wasn’t sitting idle for the last 8 years

Actor Karan Oberoi, who was also a part of the Indipop band—Band of Boys, is making a comeback on TV after a long break, and says that he was busy penning a book, a script, writing songs and doing concerts in India and abroad.

Actor Karan Oberoi was last seen in Zindagi Badal Sakta Hai Hadsaa way back in 2008. After a gap of eight years, the actor is set to return on the small screen in a thriller, where he is reported to essay the role of a psychiatrist. “I was busy with my music concerts all over India and abroad. Then I ventured into production, have also started penning scripts and a book, besides working on an album. A film also happened during the period. In short, I was never sitting idle,” says Karan aka Raghav of Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, talking about what kept him away from the small screen for so long. He adds that the kind of roles he was offered during this period weren’t good enough.

Karan Oberoi is making a comeback on the small screen with a new show, where he plays a psychiatrist.

Ask him if he ever feared that being out of sight might get him out of mind too, Karan shares, “Fortunately, people have always remembered me. Wherever I went to perform, they recognised me. I guess Mumbai has a tendency to forget, unlike other cities. In fact, after the news of comeback TV show came out, I have been getting messages on Facebook saying that they were looking forward to it. Some even said that they want to see more of me and I have decided to oblige.”

Karan is currently shooting for in Nainital for the show. Without divulging much about the character he plays in the show, he adds, “I play one of the leads on the show that has an ensemble cast. I can’t share more details right now, except that I play a warm, affectionate and honest person. It’s a loveable character that one will easily feel connected to.”
