Sanjeevni

to a mother in

Kasamh Se

, Gurdeep Kohli, the noted small screen actress, has come a long way. She lays bare her dreams and desire.

How comfortable are you portraying a character much older than you?

I feel that I’ve matured as an actress. Plus, I can’t expect to be offered roles of a college girl anymore. I have to accept the reality.

How has TV evolved since

Sanjeevni?

I think it has become regressive and the audience has to be blamed. The face of TV will not change for the better, until they start rejecting the

saas-bahu

soaps. I would’ve loved to keep doing

Sanjeevni

, but I have to accept things as they are. This pays for my daily bread. But I believe TV has to change.

What would you rather be doing then,

Sanjeevni or

Kasamh Se?

I really can’t choose. The former launched my career while the latter marked my comeback.

Unlike cinema, TV is a very different medium; here you have to continuously give people reasons to watch you day after day. Otherwise you are out. I took the comeback as a challenge and thankfully people are appreciating me — the TRPs prove this.

Any plans to make it to Bollywood?

Bollywood is like destiny; if it has to happen, it will. I was offered roles earlier but at that point of time, I wasn’t taking my career seriously. I’ll definitely go for it if I get an offer.

You were part of

Nach Baliye 2. Would you be doing any more reality shows?

I’m offered almost every reality show on TV but I’d rather concentrate on just one show. I’m no longer single; I have to set time aside for my family.

Do you like Delhi?

I love Delhi. It’s like a second home to me. People here are warm; the food is great and I love shopping in the new malls. Whenever I get an opportunity I visit the city.

How do you unwind?

I like to pamper myself. Either I chill out with friends or go for a movie with my husband.

Where do you wish to see yourself in five years?

I’d love to become a mother and remain happy and content with life.
